ROUND TYPES
Terrors of Nowhere features a lot of different round types to spice up the game.
IntermissionLobby has various cool music tracks that plays and changes after each round. You can mute the music if you wish from the settings, but it gets applied after a round has been played. Music Tracks:
Vandoorea - Floating Point Math |
ClassicThis is the standard round for Terrors of Nowhere, the base type. Previously called "Normal", Terror is spawned from the normal pool which contains X Terrors. Players usually have to survive for three minutes, sometimes a little bit longer. Some Terrors are much easier than others. |
AlternateInstead of using the normal pool, alternate pool (which contains X Terrors) is used to spawn usually a much harder Terror. Some of them require heavy amounts of coordination for even very few people to survive and some even provide items on survival. |
FogNormal pool Terror round but with additional fog added on the map, making visibility extremely low. The amount of players alive are hidden. Name of the Terror is replaced with ??? in the HUD. You can lessen the effect of the fog by using Glow/Psycho Coil, which also provides the color of the Terror in HUD. You may also use Radar and Radar Coil to reveal the Terror instantly. If you're an experienced player, most of the time you figure out the Terror just from the audio cue alone. If unlucky, an Alternate might show up in rare cases. Music Tracks:
Tilarids - beatrave |
CrackedNormal pool round but Terror is much faster both in speed and its attack animations. This round type was never designed with balance in mind so some Terrors are just completely unfair. Some Terrors may behave weirdly on their Cracked form. Music Tracks:
wake forld - confront the terrifying way out |
PunishedNormal pool round but players will have their items removed entirely for that round and can't recall them back. This usually means that players can't run away from the spawned Terror due to lack of speed or way to fight back. Once the round has ended, players need to go back to the shop and respawn their item. Music Tracks:
ZUNTATA - Hello 31337 |
8 PagesInstead of surviving by running around for few minutes, players are required to collect 8 glowing pages from the map, one at a time. Once first page has been found (or enough time has passed), Terror spawns. Most items are removed from players like in Punished but several low tier items are excluded. Unlike other round types, 8 Pages starts at 190 seconds by default. Music Track (unless specific 8pages variant): |
SabotageNot only a Terror is spawned from the normal pool, one of the players becomes the Saboteur (commonly referred as "killer" or "sus") and will have their item replaced with a knife. This knife will instantly kill other players if touched. Terrors do not target and damage Saboteur at all, with an exception of Arrival which infection can kill the Saboteur. If the Saboteur is unable to kill all players, they will die about 5 seconds before round ends. They also have to get their original item back from the shop once the round has ended. Sabotage requires at least 3 players. Music Tracks:
StudioEIM - Canto 1 B1 |
BloodbathThree Terrors from normal pool is spawned. Depending on the combination and the location, the difficulty can range from pretty managable to impossible. Music Tracks:
MarStarBro - You Can’t Run |
Double TroubleThis round is supposed to be Bloodbath, but one of the Terrors is trying to spawn twice! While there are only two Terrors, one of them becomes upgraded version of itself. |
MidnightEssentially Bloodbath but one of the Terrors are spawned from the alternate pool instead, making the round a lot more rough. Expect a lot of deaths. Music Tracks:
KEYGEN CHURCH - Tenebre Rosso Sangue |
UnboundSpawns preset of Terrors from a completely new pool, containing a lot of community suggested Terror combos which normally would be impossible to do. Difficulty goes all over the place here. Music Tracks:
Atelz Vex - Maximum Overdrive |
GhostNormal pool round but Terrors are invisible - only their particles show up. Those and sounds Terrors make are your only way to tell its location, unless using an item like Radar. If unlucky, an Alternate might show up in rare cases. Music Tracks:
Super Mario World - Ghost House |
MoonsTerrors of Nowhere features multiple moons which can be activated by completing a specific requirement in the instance. Once it is unlocked, Overseer will give you a warning about the upcoming threat. Players are recommended to heavily prepare with proper items. Once the moon has been played once, each moon has 1/20 chance to replace a special (non-classic) round. |
